It didn’t seem like six years had gone since Kaagapay rappelled from a chopper. The expensive chopper rappel was our prize for faithfully completing the 3-week search and rescue training from the Philippine Air Force 5056th Squadron stationed within the Laoag International Airport compound. They downsized, so it’s now under the 5057th. The presence of the whole Kaagapay Auxiliary Class is missed, our other cool instructors too. Only two (hahah, the two most unflappable instructors) are there for the ongoing proficiency training of the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte search and rescuers.
Thanking my classmate Demi for the heads up, Major Layaoen for the ride, and everyone for the exhilarating rappel party!
Btw, allow me to greet the Kaagapay Class president, Jeff Fariñas, for making it to the Laoag City Council. In fact, finishing first. Congrats, Jeff… yours to life ’til death! (It’s the class slogan.) He deserves the number one spot, imo! Out of the numerous candidates, it was only Jeff who campaigned at our home. Even if he didn’t do the house-to-house visit, I’d still list him as my number one though. I can vouch for his work ethic. I hope he won’t fail those who supported his candidacy.
The symbolic appearance of a snake. The snake in the Chinese zodiac represents humanitarianism.
The three ladies of Class Kaagapay. We’ve grown paunches in six years, but we’re better rappellers:)
